These apple varieties ripen in August
Ginger Golds are sweet apples when fully ripe. We like them when they're not fully ripe and have a little tart zing, and then we want to add a little salt to them as we eat them. These apples are best eaten fresh and will be stored for about a week in the fridge. This variety is not good for apple sauce or baking.

This apple variety is a Gala Elstar cross. If you want an apple that has both sweetness and tartness, just milder, then try this apple variety. This apple tends to have a milder flavor profile in comparison to other apple varieties. It also tends to be a small to medium-sized apple when fully ripe. The apple is best eaten fresh and is also great cut up in salads. Another positive for this apple is it can be stored in the fridge for a longer period of time.
Apple Varieties that ripen from October to November
Granny Smith is an older tart variety of apple. If you're looking for an apple with a good sour flavor and has been the traditional apple used for baking, look no further than this apple. Granny Smith is usually harvested in the first part of October. This apple is also great for caramel apples during fall and Halloween.
If you're looking for a late-season apple variety with both sweet and tart flavor profiles, look no further than a Braeburn. Braeburns are a great apple to eat fresh, they also keep their texture well, and they are a good baking apple. This apple is a solid older apple variety that originated from New Zealand.

It's an oldie but still an apple that ranked high in a blind taste test done here in Utah. If you want a beautiful red apple, this is an apple to consider. Red Delicious has the typical color and shape that has long been associated with apples. It is a sweet, crisp apple that is best eaten right after it is picked from the tree. This variety is also great for adding to an apple juice blend.

Ludacrisp is an extremely juicy apple, and because of its intense juiciness, it was possibly named Juicy Fruit instead of Ludacrisp. Summerset is a large red apple with a similar texture to a Honeycrisp which is one of its parents along with a Fuji apple. Summerset offers everyone a flavor explosion with every bite taken it provides the same texture and juicy explosion that a Honeycrisp apple provides with a tangier taste. This apple variety can be eaten fresh, cut up food dishes, utilized as an ingredient in baked food recipes, and juiced as well.
If you are looking for a juicy, tender, and mildly acidic early-season apple variety Yellow Transparent is a must-try apple. This apple has a yellow skin color to it. Yellow Transparent is great to be eaten fresh, great for drying, freezing, juicing, and a great early-season apple to make apple sauce with.
If you are looking for a great early-season apple variety look no further than Gravenstine. This apple is a medium to large-sized apple with a yellow-green base color with red-orange striping across the skin. Gravenstine also offers a great flavor profile that is sweet with a tart mix and releases a fruity floral aromatic scent as well, and when bitten into is nice and crisp. Gravenstine is great for eating fresh, utilized in raw and cooked food dishes, dried, and juiced.
